AG skin question

well it's not really skin since their not real but you know what I mean [img]tongue.gif[/img] Anyways I unpacked my Felicity doll(from 1994) and her skin has a sand-papery feel to it,plus it's kind of smooshy(soft,not firm). She was stored in a dresser drawer in my room for about 3 months so no sunlight/change in temp. But before that,she belonged to my gf who had her on a shelf in her parents house on display,could she have gotten too much sun??? change in temp???

Her skin/eyes/hair aren't faded(Felicity's not my gf's [img]tongue.gif[/img] ),it's puzzling me and I'm wondering if I should just retire Lissie for display only and get a new Felicity. Or send her to the AG hospital and have them do limb replacments????

Sarah could it be from the heat? Someone else mentioned they had the same problem. My girls are busy snoring away but I just felt Lissie and she feels smooth and firm to me. I dunno what to tell you [img]frown.gif[/img]

You know I got a Molly at a garage sale and she is a little rough and if you squeeze her arms or legs they go in, while my other dolls are smooth and have really hard arms and legs.
I think she's different because I got her at a garage sale and so she was laying on a table out in the sun all day before I bought her.

My Samantha's arms are like that! Rough-feeling and definately softer than the rest of her body! I left the poor girl lying on the bed in my dorm room and I went to class not realizing that the sun was shinning directly on her, this was also before they turned on the air conditioning in the building. It must be heat that does this!

Adobegardengirl, I would probably consider getting her limbs replaced instead of buying a whole new Felicity since yours is from 1994 and they have changed the hair color.

Hearing about heat damage to dolls makes me so sad. When I was a child my Grandmother brought two dolls out of the attic that had been my mother's that she had been saving for me. They were beautiful, lying in their boxes. One had shoulder length wavy brown hair and the most beautiful blue satin dress. I picked her up, and she imploded. The rubber had grown so soft that her face and limbs just collapsed. I remember her leg stuck to my hand. I was pretty freaked out.
